This shows the basic structure of my idea, it is all based around the differences in responses towards a question that has been asked to all of them. I have chosen the 3 different ages to respond to this questions, which shows the overall changes through the generations.
The type of questions I would ask are:
- What do you think about mobile phones and social media?
- How has status changed within the family? (children and gender)
- What do you think about exceptions within the family? (gender roles, social class, jobs, education)
- Attitudes towards futures (marriage, child birth, death)
Idea 2- Directors Cut
This idea shows a similar structure as the last but a whole different idea. This idea is based upon the directors point of view of what he found when making the documentary- so in this instance the director would work as the researcher. This is when the name of the director is introduced and photos. I think that this would be a good idea in my final because it encourages people to watch the documentary after reading what the director makes from the differences in generations.
Idea 3- Informing
This is so far my favourite of the mock ups I have done. Here we have the huge title of the documentary, allowing consumers of the magazine to see it straight away. Huge photos and a screenshot from the documentary (again allowing to see what it is about). The small amount of text here will explain what the documentary is about, as well as having possibly a controversial or interesting line that will withdraw a audience.
In terms of the title (that you will be see in later blogposts)- I want the text type to be incredibly simple but stand out. I have chosen passage of time as it shows all 3 generations within one documentary so it therefore almost foreshadows completely.
